Our kids love trains

One of the things we discovered on our Spring Break trip was that our kids love trains. Actually, they don't love trains, they LOVE trains. Obsess over trains. Wanted to spend every minute of our trip riding trains. Point taken for future vacations.

Brent's parents live right next to a Caltrain station, which is a commuter train for San Jose to San Francisco. They went on that train twice.

Later, it was time to ride BART. My dad used to ride BART into work in San Francisco from our home in Walnut Creek. I rode it often as a kid. Brent used to take it into the city. I guess I'm kinda a train-geek, too.

A few days later in Sacramento, we visited the California State Railroad Museum which, according to their website, is regarded as North America's most popular railroad museum. Not Northern California's, NORTH AMERICA'S most popular railroad museum! It was amazing, and if your kids love trains, this is the place for them.

It was pretty dark in there, so you might not be able to see just how enormous these trains were. It was intimidating. The kids are showing how big the wheels are.
