Star jasmine is one of my favorite scents. We had bunches of it growing at our home in Walnut Creek, and the smell of it reminds me of my happy, carefree childhood. Oh, to go back to those days...
We have a nice trellis of this growing outside our bedroom and family room windows. I love when I'm laying in bed or at the computer and I catch a whiff of it. I wish it would bloom all year long...

I'm with you. I love star jasmine. It is the scent I associate with Walnut Creek, since we had it growing outside our window when we were young. I associate Lilacs with Portland. I was trying to think of what I associate with Utah, but the only memorable smell experience is when I got out of the car with Ida in Logan and almost gagged on the smell of cow maneure while she inhaled deeply and said, "ah, it smells like home". I haven't figured out a philly smell, mostly because I'm hoping by some twist of fate that the last 4 years will disappear from memory as soon as we leave.
